Steve "Big Mac" MacIntyre Named Commissioner of the AEJHL
Edmonton, AB – Monday August 11th, 2025 – The Alberta Elite Junior Hockey League (AEJHL) is proud to announce the appointment of former NHL enforcer Steve MacIntyre as its new League Commissioner. Known for his grit, determination, and inspiring career journey, MacIntyre brings a wealth of experience—and a personal connection to the many AEJHL players he serves.
Before reaching the NHL and playing with the Edmonton Oilers, Florida Panthers, and Pittsburgh Penguins, MacIntyre faced the challenges of a tough hockey journey. He understands firsthand the dedication required to make it in the league, which makes him a valuable asset as a leader in the AEJHL. Through perseverance, hard work, and a deep understanding of the game, MacIntyre embodies the spirit of resilience that he hopes to instill in the players.
